Obituary as printed in the Paducah Sun October 18, 2008Saturday, October 18, 2008 DEKALB, Ill. Catherine Siener, 93, of DeKalb, formerly of Golconda, passed away Friday morning, October 17, 2008, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center in DeKalb. She was born January 4, 1915, to Frank Strobel and Amy McCallester in Sturgis, Ky. Catherine moved to Illinois as a small child and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Samuel Ruins. She was united in marriage to James Monroe Siener on December 31, 1932. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1995. Survivors include four sons and one daughter, Paul and wife Colleen Siener of Kingston, Roy and wife Mary Lou Siener of Sycamore, Amy and husband Wesley ?Jack? Kilpatrick of Brownfield, James and wife Carolyn Siener of Gilbertsville, Ky., and Victor and wife Ava Siener of Paducah, Ky; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; stepfather; one half sister; one brother; one son, Rodney Siener; and one grandson, Robert Siener. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Golconda, Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2008, at Aly Funeral Home, Golconda. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Golconda. Visitation will be Sunday, October 19, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Aly Funeral Home, Golconda.

Grandma Siener's Quilts James Monroe and Catherine Alysious (Strobel) Siener James Monroe and Catherine Aloysius raised their family on a farm north of Golconda, he also worked in a mine at Rosiclare, Illinois and he was a construction worker for many years. Their first child Rodney Delano was born February 19, 1937. He is the father of five children, John Robert, Russell Dean, James Randall, Patricia Grace and Catherine Dawn. Paul Richard was born April 29, 1939, on his dad's birthday. Paul married Alice Sue Farmer April 16, 1960. They had two sons, Steven Richard and Gregory Kent. On May 17, 1982 Alice Sue passed away at the age of 42. On December 29, 1983 Paul married Martha Nimmo and now he has a step-daughter Faria. On May 1, 1990 Martha died at the age of 47. On August 14 1993 Paul Married Colleen Mae Bennett. Amy Frances the third child was born March 25, 1941. She married Wesley Ragains Kilpatrick April 9, 1960. They have three children, Michael Leroy, James Elton and Twyla Lynn. Roy Louis was born September 17, 1944. He married Mary Lou Hoover May 30, 1964. They are the parents of two children, Sharon Sue and Daniel Lee. James Wayne their fifth child was born November 20, 1946. He married Carolyn Riley March 23, 1968. They have two sons, Jason Wayne and Bart Sterling. James served in the United States Navy. Their sixth child, Victor Monroe was born July 17,1952. On April 26,1980 Victor married Ava Yvonne Magee. Victor and Ava have one son, Jacob Magee Siener born July 27, 1988. Victor also served in the United States Navy.
