Steven, I have a little more info - seems I'm the oldest of this bunch, but this info comes from Bob, a little older!
Regarding Steven Siener's information, I checked the records I have from the family history and there are no records of a Monroe or Jacob or Paul, but here is some speculation.
Our great, great grandfather, Wendlin Siener (b 1814) who was from Maikammer, Germany and his wife, Elizabeth Humm (b 1816) came to America and had seven children and their son Frank is our great grandfather. Wendlin had six siblings, Maria, Franz Mathes, Margaretha, Nicholas, Franz Peter and another Margaretha (the first one died at age 9). Who knows what happened to those siblings and if Steven is from that branch of the tree. There is a note that “Franz Peter came to America but all contact is lost”.
Wendlin and Elizabeth’s children were born in Germany and came to America through New Orleans and made their way to the German settlement in Elizabethtown, which is between Shawneetown and where Stephen’s family appears to be from, Golconda, IL.
Another strange but unsolved fact is that when I went to work for Tenneco in New Orleans, there was a woman who was about 50 years old and the wife of Robert Siener who lived in Chalmette. I talked with her and neither she nor her husband seemed to be very interested in pursuing how we might be related and swore they were not related to any Sieners in Illinois. Also, ironically, when I went to the closing of a house I bought in New Orleans, the closing agent was Robert Siener (apparently their son) but he also didn’t care much that we might be related. Such is life. It might be interesting to see if there are any immigration records in New Orleans, but given the general operation of New Orleans, there probably isn’t anything there.
Another point is that the family tree above Wendlin goes like this. Wendlin is the son of Emmanuel and Anna Maria Geran. Emmanuel is the son of Peter who was from Wegher, Germany and Eva Maria Lutz. I don’t quite know where I got this info but I think from either Charlotte Ruth or Evadeen. I think you said Freda also has a lot of this info."
